Round 13 Feature Match: Dirk Baberowiski vs Louis Sousa
This matchup sees Germany´s Dirk Baberowiski facing Portugal´s Louis Sousa with both players sitting on 28 points before this round. A win would see them in a very strong position whereas a loss would mean elimination from the race for the elusive top eight slots.

Game 1: This game´s first play was a turn one Imagecrafter from Dirk whilst Louis could do nothing until he cycled a Swat at the end of Dirk´s third turn, drawing him into the second swamp and allowing him to make a face down Fallen Cleric to match Dirk´s turn three Alphetto Alchemist. These creatures traded in combat on Dirk's turn . This play was repeated on the fourth turn as Dirk´s Blistering Firecat traded for a Defender Of The Order. Dirk missed his fourth land drop and bemoaned his opponent "You´re meant to be mana screwed, not me". Finally he drew a mountain and could make a Keeneye Aven to match a Screeching Buzzard on Luis´s side of the table. Luis passed his turn and Dirk was able to make the second Keeneye Aven from his hand giving him a sizeable flying force. Louis realized he needed to force the pace and that made him play Mobilization and Severed legion on his turn. However, this was met with a shrug from Dirk as it would allow both his Keeneye Avens and the Ascending Aven to attack without tapping . The race was never in Louis´s favour with the two points a turn from the legion being insufficient to beat the 4 points of flying damage a turn from the Avens. Louis´s problems were compounded when Dirk made his fifth land and unmorphed a Mistform Shrieker and swung with all his flyers. Louis was able to survive the attack by Unmorphing a Wingbeat Warrior but scooped after drawing his card.

Game 2: After minimal sideboarding game two got underway with Louis mulliganning to six and playing first. He was distinctly unimpressed by Dirk making a turn 2 Aphetto Alchemist and then enchanting it with Lavamancer´s Skill on the third turn, which rendered all of Louis´s early threats useless. Dirk, however, was able to amass a sizable flying army which enabled him to apply severe pressure to Louis. Even a swat to take care of the Alchemist was unable to stop dirk from flying in for seven a turn with his two Keeneye Aven and an Ascending Aven. Louis was able to produce a blocker in the shape of Wingbeat Warrior in an effort to stay alive. However Dirk revealed the morph that he had played during his turn, an Echotracer.

Tras un entretenido pero nada decisivo intercambio de criaturas en los primeros turnos, Stan consolida su ofensiva con un Gustcloak Harrier que recibe la ya famosa armadura de la primera partida. Ambos jugadoras despliegan sus ejércitos pero el Harrier con la Armadura va inclinar la balanza del lado del holandés. Cuando parecía todo perdido, David consigue la séptima tierra necesaria para invocar al Imperial Hellkite. Y los ejércitos siguen reforzándose hasta que David se estabiliza en dos puntos vida. David vuelve a rezar su novena a Santa Rita para que le salga una de las dos cartas que le queda en el mazo para librarse del correoso Harrier. Justo antes de los turnos extra entra en acción el Goblin Machinist. Stan lanza un ataque a la desesperada para intentar forzar dos puntos de daño pero el alemán, con diversos trucos, consigue bloquearlo. Finalmente, en el primer turno extra, David gana. Y todo esto a pesar de que el Maquinista escondió las dos cartas que podían matar al Harrier. El alemán empleó sabiamente cinco minutos en calcular el daño que podía realizar y forzó la victoria con un ataque masivo.
